Ages ago people lived in small communities and did not know anything about their neighbors because of the absence of transport. The progress, coming with rapid strides, has changed our life. In my opinion, the most significant invention in the area of transport was the invention of airplane. It affords us to cover huge distances with much effort and minimum of time. Airplanes help us now in all spheres of our life – business, travelling, exploring, transportation of loads.
I think, the major contribution of invention of airplanes is the overcoming of lack of communication. Times ago people could only dream to travel over oceans to see other countries. Of course, you could go there by ship but it took months. Now you can take a vacation for few weeks, buy a ticket and reach almost all parts of the world in several hours.
The invention of airplanes also made a great advance in business. You can have the foreign partners now no matter where they are living. You can get aquatinted with them, which can be very useful for your business, and you can go to their hometown to carry all the necessary negotiations yourself. It is definitely very important, that diplomats and heads of different countries can meet each other. In this case, I can even make a reasonable assessment, that airplanes can help to establish peace in the world.
Another important role of airplanes is the transportation of goods. People can change their products, and now people living in the north can receive fruit the whole year round, people living in the places with a great number of diseases can receive the necessary medicine, people in the areas of trouble can receive warm clothes in a short time.
It is impossible to imagine our society without airplanes now. They undoubtedly play a very important role in our everyday life. We can use them in the variety of situations: travelling, maintaining business or helping people to receive things they need.
