In my personal opinion, knowledge gained from experience and books are important. The knowledge that you gained from the books normally is about the basic knowledge that you need to know. The knowledge that you gain from experience is about the ways to apply all of your knowledge to your jobs. Besides, you can gain the ways to work and live with other people from experience as well. Therefore, I do believe that the knowledge from experience is more important than the knowledge from the books.

You can gain knowledge such as engineering calculation techniques, design techniques, programming methods, and management techniques from the books. However, you still need to learn to apply the knowledge to your jobs. I do not think that you can solve all problems that you meet in your job very well if you have no experiences. From my experience, I found that, in order to solve the problems, I need to use various kind of knowledge I gained from books plus the experiences I gained from my previous jobs. You cannot find the ways to manage your jobs, to motivate your team members, and to solve the conflict between the members from the books. But you have to learn about them by performing.

In addition, you can not study about how to live and work with other people. I think that you have to participate in the problems or situations in order to learn the ways to solve the problems. Such knowledge is not available in books. These are the reasons why I believe the knowledge from experience is more important than that from the books.

In conclusion, in my personal opinion, knowledge gained from experience is more important than knowledge gained from books. This is because some knowledge such as the ways to apply the knowledge gained the books to your jobs, the ways to manage your jobs, the way to work and live with other people is not available in the books. However, I think both sources of knowledge are important. You cannot work effectively if you have either working experience or knowledge from books.
