Some students prefer to study with a group while others prefer to study alone. I think the advantages of studying in a group outweigh any benefits we gain from studying alone.
First, one can absorb others’ advantages and discard his drawbacks through studying in groups. Everyone has his own particular knowledge in a field and is blind to some fields. Exposed to an excited discussion, one will never fail to meet a happy surprise. A good solution one has struggled to work out for several months are right before him. Some wonderful ideas one has never thought of just reach his mind at that time. In contrast, if one always studies individually without communicating with any other people, I can’t believe he can reach his goal. In a word it is complementary for everybody in the group to study together.
Second, studying together can cultivate one a great team spirit, which is quite essential in today’s world. We are always saying interdependence is much more important than independence. It reveals how important regiment spirit is. Fortunately studying in groups offers us a big chance to adapt it. Contest and cooperation is not rare in a group. One has to contact with others, listening to others opinions even criticism. In turn, communication stimulates his interest to keep up with other group members and surpass them. For example, team spirit is vital for every MBA student because one cannot complete a huge project by himself. Without team spirit, without contact, without argument, group members can never acquire their desired knowledge and attain their goals.
In conclusion, even some people choose studying alone; I prefer to study in a group. This is the best way for me and for everybody to learn more and develop team spirit.
