There are many methods of learning. Different people like their own way of learning. Some people like learning by doing things; other people like reading about things; others like learning by listening to people talking about things. In my point of view, I like learn by doing things. However it's hard to say which one is better way of learning. Different ways have their own merits. Therefore in the following paragraphs, I would like to present the reason why I like learning from doing things.

In the first place, we are learning because we want to get some kind of skills and want to do something in the future. While we are concentrate on the book or on what the other said, we can not really understand what the thing actually is. For example, sometimes we learn from reading or listening. We might have the idea of either the test is too easy, or too difficult. But when we actually take the test, we may find that the test is neither that easy, nor that difficult. And we still pay enough attention and effort to get a score we want. How dare we just guess things from reading or listening? It must lead to mistake. We all do not trust the people who are concentrate on reading or listening, but we trust the people who concentrate on doing things.

From taking on task like work or study, I could learn bit by bit from doing that. I can get skills. Maybe after some time, I can have the big idea of doing things better, which depend on my ability and experience. For a instance of my own, I had been preparing for Toefl test for a long time. I had heard someone said it was too hard; other said it was easy, just a week's study. I do not know to whom I can believe and waste a long time. As the time of test approaching, I said to myself I should trust myself, and I ought not to mind how much score I will get. All I should do is to try to go on, to practice. So at the last few days, I get my confidence. From practicing, I know what are my disadvantages and what are my advantages. And above all I know how many scores I will get before the test. I think about this thing later that it is no matter what you know about the things. Do not look too high or too low about the things. Just do it. And you will find the things are not the one that you are originally thought to be.

All in all, I prefer to learn by doing. And if we have enough experience, we can learn by doing together with reading and listening.
