How do you complain about a product or poor service? Whether to complain in writing and in person had its advantages and disadvantages, it is hard to distinguish. Which you prefer depends on your own experience, writing ability, communication ability and your time. I prefer to complain in writing most in my point of view.
Then why I prefer to complain in writing? I like it because I think my writing ability is better than my communication ability. I can write my opinion very clearly, so, the staff of the suppliers of products or services can exactly know what they should do for me. In the same time, there are no many argument or personal bias in the progress when you complain in writing.
There is a good example. Last month, the installation staff of Rogers Cable didn¡¯t test the cable modem after he installed for me. During the next three days, I could not connect to the Internet. I called them for several times, but I can¡¯t exactly explain the problem on the phone, they thought that was operation problem of myself and refused to provide supply. But, after I wrote to them and detailed all things, they immediately came to my home and changed the bad modem.
Yet for another reason is that you can save time and money when you complain in writing. Generally, many suppliers of products or services aren¡¯t locating in the city in which you live. If you want to complain in person, there are only two choices: give a long-distance phone call or travel to the city. No wonder, it must take your many time and money. On the contrast, there is no this problem if you choose writing.
Of course, there are some disadvantages to complain in writing. When you find there is no gas in your gas pipe in the cold winter, if you insist to complain in writing, you maybe have been frozen stiff before you letter attach the supplier. But anywhere, I prefer to complain about a product or poor service in writing more than in person.
