Today people are living longer than ever before. Some of the main reasons are contribute to this. We can find it out of our life style, our history records and from current topic.

Health advices have been shared between us. Advices like no smoking, keeping fresh air within the room, exercising weekly, eating more fruit and vegetable, are spread to everyone by newspaper, from TV, and from friends. I think it is the most visible benefit we get from 20th century.

Medical researcher’s hard work has prevented a lot of disease. In 1970, there are 70% people have beriberi in Hong Kong, which is a disease characterized by muscular weakness, swelling of the heart, and leg cramps and may, in severe cases, lead to heart failure and death. There is no effective way to cure this before until scientist found the rice they are eating daily lacking of Vitamin B. after artificial supplement, now this disease has become a history. As well as the blindness along with the newborn child in developing countries has been ceased after supplied Vitamin A.

These research works also prevented the disease from spreading. Now we have more advanced way to check your health condition. The best example is AIDS. People can be alarm by a HIV test and take the treatment earlier, so the patient could live longer and better. If a mother infected with HIV has been detected, there are powerful drug can prevent the baby from infecting by HIV. How amazing it is, it is like saved a whole life. Now there is a system to monitor our food, tell us do not eat beef in Europe because a kind of virus which can cause human die.
If we possess a health body, we can then afford hard working to improve family’s qualify lives. All of this ensures that we will live longer and better than ever before. Let us continual to support medical research.
