It's pronounced that we can learn things
from both those whose views we share and
those whose views contradict our own.And
from which group we learn more is lar-gely depend on our mental attitude.
For those open-minded people, who are likely to face different and various ideas, often cvaluate them and their own, thus finding out flaws, widening their kens and consummating their ideas.
Although sometimes it may trigger dispu-tations, it is still more instrumental
for them. For example, our Chinese's be-loved leader, Chairman mao, who was al-
ways concerned about what the general
populace most concerned, was courteous to their pool-like demandings and sugg-estions. He belived that(and i para-phrase)"the People is always the un-
failing source of our intelligence and strength."
On the other hand, for those narrow-
minded people(let me clarify here that i have no prejudice towards them. The two kinds of people are equally exist just as days and nights.),they are al-lergic to divergencies, even more, they
may hate disagreement. In this case, it is obvious that they can learn little from contradict views. And from the shared views, they can find the familiar
points and confirm their own, henceforth
furthering their ideas.
In a word, discussing with those who share your ideas can further your views,
while disputating with those who have
different ones can widen your mind,Which
manner do you prefer lies in ypur mental
attitude. In fact, both of the two as-pects are indispensible in humman pro-gress.On one hand, any truth comes out after intensive argument; on the other,
without commen sense in areas, no sub-jects can be driven ahead.
