At the present time, foreign languages especially english which is generally considered the international language become more essential for the students to succeed in their education. For my point of view, I agree that children should begin learning a foreign language as soon as they start school because of ir3 main reasons.
First of all, the earlier the children commence learning laguage, the better the result of studying is. As a matter of fact, the appropriate age for one to train language skill is 3-5 years beause their brain, vocal cord, tonge and lip begin to work cooperatively to spell words at this age. For example, asian children born in Europe can speak english flawlessly like the native people.
Secondly, if children are familiar with a foreign language from the beginning, they will have no problem in reading foreign text books when they grow up and foreign texts such as english is mandatory to their higher curriculum. For instance, my friend knowed english when they studied at grade 5. Consequently, his study was hindered by a large number of foreign engineering text books inspite of his proficiency in mathematics and physics.
Finally, due to the dramatic evolution of technology, the world becomes narrower than the past. Foreign languages such as english and china tend to have an important role in communication between the people from several countries. Moreover , today's goal of the educaion is to enable the student to have international language's skill as much as possible. To accomplish this purpose, the curriculum must be adapt and it will be much easier to achieve this aim if the government offer the children a foreign language since they start schooling.
To sum up, I strongly agree that children should begin to study a foreign language as soon as they start school since the proper time to initiate a language skill to them is when they commence schooling and it would be helpful to build a future's curriculum. Besides, experience time is very important for language proficiency.
