There is a issue topic of the GRE general test."It's unfortunate that today's educators place so much emphasis on finding out what students want to include in the curriculum and then giving it to them. It is the educator's duty to determine the curriculum and the students'duty to study what is present to them."

In the fluctuating Sargasso sea of knowledge, teachers, like those illuminating beacons, give us students guidance. Whereas it is us who are the rudders steering the ships. So rather than determine what we should learn, educators should make some research on what we are willing to learn.
First of all, interest is an effective stimulant to boost our morale. Not only can it highly activate the undeveloped potency, but also it can make us concentrated in what we show appreciations to, thus plunging into it heart and soul and making progress. As we know, Newton, one of the most fruitful scientists in history, was so enchanted with his research that once he mistook his watch as an egg for cooking. And just because of his---what others seem as madness---infatuation with he career, he obtained many signficant achievements during his
life time. On the contrary, if what we learn completely depend on others and thus have no charisma to us, then few are likely to show enthusiasm no matter how advanced the teaching method is. This is easy to understand. Suppose that a group of high-school students are infused with calculus, a course for college students in science and engineer departments. What will be the outcome? Both students and teacgers will be frustrated.
Secondly, it is one of the deucators duty to find out what students really inclined to learn instead of to determine the curriculum themselves. For they act as guides for us, not as supervisors. On one hand, they should be clearly awared that the fundimental purpose of their tutoring is to help us master knowledge as much as possible to better adapt to futher work and life. And pure inoculation results in nothing but the strdents' inertia. From this point, a well-chosen curriculum will be of great help to their instruction. Meanwhile, students, especially college students, wo are faces placement, will have less complaints on how useless they learned in college. On the other hand, educators should try to find appropriate courses for students at different grades, hence making their curriculums optional. For example, courses like singing, drawing and dancing, aiming at instigating wide interests, are favored by primary school students; while music, painting, choreography classes are suitable for college students.
Finally, relatively flexible curriculums are more accessible than fixed ones. Since students' interests shift quickly, the curriculums should have correspondingly modifications, otherwise, it will gradually become stereotype. Just like other things, though not to deliberatly chase fads, in order to function better, curriculum should be in an active state.
In summary, educators provide us growth environments as good as possible, then we student can grow up healthily with the nutures we favor best.
