It has been said, ¡°Not everything that is learned is contained in books.¡± Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?

As the old saying goes, ¡°Not everything that is learned is from books.¡± We can learn either from books or from experience. In my point of view, the latter method is more important. Since through my own experience, the knowledge is more impressive, it is really understood by myself, and it builds up my own philosophy.
It is said that it is better to see oneself rather than to hear. The knowledge from books is mostly correct, and it is the summarization of others¡¯ experiences, but we learn them by reading, and may seem a bit abstract. Comparing to the knowledge with an example in detail, the knowledge without any notations is more unimpressive to me. Plus, if the example or the situation is nearer to my life, the knowledge about it is more impressive to me. This is the effect of experience: it makes knowledge more impressive.
Second, knowing something does not equal to understanding something. Only those that are understood by yourself will influence you most. For example, since we were younger, we have known perseverance is an essential trait for success. But then we perhaps don¡¯t understand why we have to be so stubborn. Till now, we experienced failures due to giving up and successes due to insisting on, we know how valuable this character is. This is the effect of experience: it makes me understand knowledge indeed.
In addition, everything has two sides. Someone who believes in one side writes his opinion in his books, someone who thinks different makes his books. We learn two apparently contrasting opinions, which one do you prefer? Only through my own experience, can I evaluate these two and select either or both, and this knowledge can be part of my own, employing correctly by myself. This time experience helps me distinguish right from wrong.
Consequently, I believe knowledge from experience is more important than knowledge from books. Because it makes the latter familiar to me, it makes the latter pellucid to me, it differentiates the latter for me.
