LEARNING THE PAST

Learning about the past definitely has value for those living in the present. Knowing history and learning about it is always good.

By learning the past we come to know how man evolved on the earth and how all the beautiful things around us were created. We come to know about our ancestors, their culture, their tradition and way of living, by studying the past.

According to me knowing and learning the past is as important as depicting events in the future. By learning the past we come to know about great people, their contributions to the society, their goodness, their values and ethics and learn a lot from them, there by they becoming an idol for us and so that we can follow their footsteps.

For example we learn good values from people like Mahatma Gandhi, who fought for the freedom of India. He followed the path of non-violence and freed India from foreigners. From him we get to learn the values of peace and non-violence.

Knowing the past also helps us being a good person by not repeating the same mistakes. Not only learning the past many years and years ago helps us, but also to learn and study the activities we did yesterday can also help us by not repeating them again.

Therefor in conclusion I’d say learning past helps us to know ourselves better. It makes us know the world better historically, geographically and artistically. That’s why probably history has always been a subject in school from childhood.
