If we compare live in cosmopolitan cities to live in small cities, both will provide us with disadvantages and advantages; However, I prefer to live in small cities rather than to live in cosmopolitan cities. To my view, life in small cities is cheaper, quieter, and people are much friendlier compared to life and people in cosmopolitan cities.

Due to the population rate, life in cosmopolitan cities is expensive. This is, because every year many people move to cosmopolitan cities in order to live there. This increase in the population results in an increase in expenses and prices. Small cities on the other hand, do not face this problem and that’s why, their prices and expenses are mostly stable. For example, if we compare Toronto (a cosmopolitan city), to Orangeville (a small city), we will see the difference. Than in Toronto people pay for an ordinary one bedroom apartment around $900 can. In Orangeville a person would rent a whole house for this amount.

Another point is that people in smaller cities are much friendlier compared to people in cosmopolitan cities. I believe this is because people in smaller cities are not alienated to newcomers, since they do not have as many newcomers or settlers as cosmopolitan cities.
For instance, when I visited a friend of mine in Mississauga, I was amazed by the kindness and friendliness of the people there. They were talking and greeting each other which you hardly would see in Toronto. If I think back of Toronto, everybody is rushing from one place to other, even your neighbors next door.

Furthermore small cities are quieter. It is a fact that small cities do not have the problem with traffic and overpopulation. You can shop in small cities without waiting twenty minutes in line, and you do not have to wait for the next bus because the one arrived is full which usually the case in cosmopolitan cities is. Besides, in small cities you do not have to go far away in order to find a green area or a park as you might have seen in cosmopolitan cities.

In short, I would like to point out that live in smaller cities is more pleasant than live in cosmopolitan cities. Small cities are cheaper, quieter in their life standards and the most important part is people are much friendlier. What’s your idea?
