For many years television has been accused of being responsible for social destruction. This is, in fact, not true. In my opinion, the principal cause of this phenomenon is the people who adopt the media into their lives, not the media itself.

Television is considered to be useful in many aspects, from conveying news to delivering advertisement to the audience. Without television, the world business can never be changed to the new economy system. People who watch only unproductive shows, called passive viewers, cut themselves off their family and friends. This is obviously not the responsibility of television.

Additionally, communication channel are publicly available today. If you do not have a telephone wired in your house, just walk several blocks down the street and you will find at least one public telephone booth or internet cafe. People with positive attitude do not spend most of their time in front of televisions. Instead, they go out for new and fresh experience with their acquainted.

In conclusion, I believe that only the passive viewers destroyed their relationship with their own relatives and friends. Television is too beneficial to us to be claimed destroying communication between people. It is the people that destroyed themselves.
