I believe that a person’s likes could change during his life. Surely when one is an adolescent or a recently graduate prefer to move anywhere seeking for one´s first job or a better place to live. Even traveling, knowing different people and challenging your capacity of adaptation has its advantages staying in the same place has more advantages than this. Now, in my adult life and as an experienced professional I prefer to let my roots grow in one place because there are some important items in my life that I consider as a must, such as friendship, personal activities and professional career.
The more you stay in one place the more you could develop a deeper relationship with friends. Good friends are those you can ask for something important and this you can only have in a deep friendship. Imagine if in one moment you need a friend to lend you some money, If you are not an old and trustable friend, probably you couldn’t have this help from him.
One of my personal activities is sailing. I love to sailboat and I have practiced this sport since 1988. I have never owned a boat but I have many friends that invite me to enjoy a sailing trip. I couldn’t have this whole weekend activity if I didn’t know boat owners through this years.
At least, your professional career is very important in your life and all the professional contacts that you make in it are probably the key to ensure your future success. If one time you experiment a lay-off, you surely can use your contact network to find a new job. Being working in the same place can help you to perform your possibilities to reach this new job.
In our life we always have to chose between many possibilities and we have to evaluate them carefully not to make mistakes, but surely these decisions could probably change during the development of our life. Considering my own situation, now I prefer to be in one place and develop my entire life there.
