Modern life is causing many traditions and beliefs to become less important. Choose one tradition or belief and explain why you think it should be continued and maintained. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Yes, many changes come with modern life, not only in the way we live, but also in the way we think. We have obtained many benefits from these changes, such as more varies of merchandises, more convenient transportation and much freely in choosing a position. Meantime, we have left something valuable. As far as I am concerned, one of them is our morality standard.
With the development of economy, many people admire money and they rank profit the most important thing in the world. They try hard to obtain them by any kind of means, neglecting the morality. These phenomena ruin the ethos and make us hard to live, what¡¯s more, they may undermine our country¡¯s development.
In the street, you may see some beggars, begging to the passengers. But few of them will get any alms. Why? Because we know some beggars are not so poor, they just pretended and cheated the passengers. Some reports have discovered them who used this way to earn a living. Then who will continue to show his pity to a cheater, who will waste his money on a cheater? Thus, we try to learn to be clever, and try to protect ourselves from being fooled. How tired are we! We used to live in a country, famous of honesty! I wish this moral will be maintained.
In a family, there are still some people who think of their own profits most of all. They play tricks to their siblings, their parents. Have you seen more parents persecuted their children won¡¯t support them? Have you seem more siblings went to the court for malapportioned legacy? All of them are the outcomes of selfishness. But we used to live in a country famous of respecting the seniors and caring of sibling. I wish this moral will be continued.
In the world market, there are still some people who sacrifice our country¡¯s benefits and credits, just to earn his own advantages. They smuggle goods, they make counterfeit. They earned money, but they lost the characters of their own and of our country. In a long run, this will surely corrupt our country¡¯s development. Yet we used to live in a country famous of sincerity. I wish this moral will be reserved.
Anyway, to be a virtuous person is important. We should never give it up in any cases. I hope our fellows will keep down this virtue and it will insure our lives more beautiful.
