I like hand-made cookies very much. But if I am asked to do it by myself, I would rather say ¡® please give me a cookie machine first¡±. I prefer to use machine as more as possible as other people may choose to do work using their hands. But it is definitely not the case for me. I think the invention of machinery is one of the milestones of modern life. Basically, three factors make more choose machine when doing work.
First, also the important one is that machine can save our energy and time. Today, the rhythm of life is faster and faster. Spending the whole afternoon to make some cookies is really romantic but it seems to some extent a little unrealistic for young people like us. After a long exhaustive working day, who will choose to make something by hand when an easy-to-use machine is available? Using machine can save us valuable time which can be spared on more interesting and comfortable things like watching TV and playing games.
Second, maybe a little ridiculous reason is that without machine, we may be not able to do a lot of things. Do you know how to extract juice from apple without an extractor? Frankly say, I do not know and I do not want to bother myself with this silly question. Since we already have a lot of machine which is convenient for modern life, why should we use hand to do those routine things? Only people like my grandmother believe that things made by hand taste better than machine-made things. Maybe quality is important but it really does not worth that much.
The last reason is just for women. Our beautiful hands are so beautiful and fragile. We need to protect them carefully. One rule is to avoid using them as tools. Housewives are released a lot since the invention of kitchen machines. Nowadays, more and more kitchen machines are specially designed for women. And those machines become more and more popular. That¡¯s the best evidence that supports my opinion here that more and more women take care of their hands!
