Hello, Mr Lougheed. I bought your book among other materials to prepare for TOEFL and I'm very pleased with it.I was glad to learn that you have your website where everyone can post their essays for you to review them. This is my first essay for TOEFL. I decided to start with the topic that I didn't find in your book :) I guess it's a new one and you'll cover it in the next edition of your book. Thank you in advance.
If I were an employer, I would prefer to hire an experienced worker with a higher salary to an inexperienced one with a lower salary. I do not consider it a waste of funds. On the contrary, I strongly believe that spending more money on hiring professionals is worth the positive results of their work.
It is common knowledge that time is money. It is especially true in the world of business. With an inexperienced worker I will have to spend time on extensive training. I can afford it with entry level positions, but not with more important jobs with more responsibility. As an experienced professional won’t need much training he or she will be ready to work much sooner. This means that hiring an experienced person will save time and thus it will also save money.
Furthermore, a professional is not likely to make mistakes which may eventually cause money losses. He or she can also incorporate his or her skills and previous experience into new work. It can be helpful when you need to solve problems or view your organization’s work at a different angle.
In conclusion, experienced workers save you time and money as the difference in salary is less than the profit they bring your company in the end. Of course, it depends on your budget and priorities in distributing money, but in my opinion, employing professionals is an investment that will definitely pay off.
