It is one of a few ultimate truths, I believe, that people are never satisfied with what they have. It is a human nature that people always want something more or something new. There are numerous reasons that why I hold this opinion so confidently. I would here explore some of the most important ones.

All people are curious about what they do not have. Curiosity is another human nature. That is one of some key reasons why so many scientists are seeking what is unknown to people. In other words, they do not satisfied what they already know.

People all want to try something new or something different. How many times you go to a restaurant with your friends and ask the waiter, “What’s new?” I bet every time!

If one cannot see from concrete examples that people are never satisfied with what they have, one can deduce it from general principles. If our ancestors were satisfied with the caves they live, we would not be able to live in luxury houses nowadays. If people were ever satisfied with their ability to walk, we would never be able to have a car to drive, not to mention now we can take a flight from New York to London in just several hours! It is the desire for the better that drives us human being to pursuing a new goal. Only in that way, can we make progress and live better.

So next time when you want to buy a new clothes, don’t blame on yourself about your greedy. Go for it, and make yourself satisfied, I mean, at least satisfied at the time when you buy the clothes. It will force you to earn more money which, in turn, is good both for our society and your family.

Taking into account all these factors, we may reach a solid conclusion that people are never satisfied with what they have. After all, we all benefit from this human nature
